Let employees do something just for fun now and then. It can be a good way to help them feel their jobs are more than just a daily grind. Here are some ideas:Go to the great outdoors for an exciting round of golf....or....just hold a hallway golf tournament in the office or plant. Let the employees build the course, but only with items that are already somewhere in the company. They may not bring anything from home.
Set up a trivia white or blackboard where employees at their leisure can write trivia questions for others to answer as they walk by the board. It's fun and everyone has a chance to test his or her knowledge of trivia.
Hold a Christmas tree ornament exchange.
Hold a contest for employees' children. Invite them to write a story or draw a picture about their parent's job. Include the winners' art or essays in the company newsletter. Make a $100 donation to a charity selected by the winning child or children.
